Waters LCT Premier

The Waters LCT Premier Mass Spectrometer is a high performance bench-top orthogonal acceleration time-of-flight (oa-TOF) LC/MS system. Improvements in ion source, transfer optics, vacuum system, TOF optics and electronics have resulted in an oa-TOF instrument with unsurpassed ion transmission that gives an order of magnitude more sensitivity when compared to the previous Waters LCT Mass Spectrometer. With these improvements, Waters provides an instrument that has ability to detect analytes with full spectral acquisition that would not have normally been detected without a pre-concentration step. Analytical application areas that benefit from sensitivity improvements include:

The Micromass LCT Premier is an easy-to-use benchtop mass spectrometer that uses a high resolution oa-ToF to enable automated exact mass measurements. This provides both accurate mass assignment but also a high degree of selectivity for identification of components in complex mixtures.
The rapid acquisition of full spectra from the ’pulsed’ oa-ToF analyser also delivers excellent sensitivity across the full mass range, in comparison to the low duty cycle of traditional scanning instruments. The use of in-source collision induced dissociation can also yield structural information. This powerful combination delivers simple exact mass measurement for compound confirmation and identification of unknowns.
